Demolition of Llandudno's Tudno Castle hotel resumes after break for Victorian Extravaganza

The demolition work at the Tudno Castle hotel in Llandudno has resumed after pausing for the Bank Holiday weekend.

Work at the Grade II listed former hotel is being carried out ahead of a planned £10m redevelopment.

Mostyn Broadway road, which runs adjacent to the site, was re-opened ahead of the Victorian Extravaganza over the weekend.

It had been closed due to stability concerns for the structure which was said to be in a worst condition than first thought.

Work has been ongoing at the site since January, ahead of a £10m redevelopment which will see a Premier Inn, a Beefeater, Prezzo and other restaurants and retail units built at the derelict former hotel.

An engineer was on the site all weekend to monitor the remaining structure and digital monitoring is now in place.
