I think it is fair to say we have all said or heard a knock knock joke.  Sometimes funny and sometimes they aren’t.

But have you ever wondered where the joke originally comes from?

Well, it comes from the Shakespearean era, in his play Macbeth, in which a porter is awakened by a man knocking at the door and he asks ‘who is there’.

Now, although that’s the base of it, it wasn’t until 1936, when a Radio Presenter launched various jokes across the nation on air which led to a craze of the ‘Knock Knocks’.

Who could have thought that this is backdated to Shakespeare? It’s crazy!
