The App, created by Thornetree Studios, is currently #1 in the google play store with over 10,000,000 installs.
It is based on the old retro game ‘Snake’ which came pre-installed on many Nokia 3310’s, however Thornetree Studios have given it a bit of a facelift, both graphically and functionally.
The app, once downloaded and installed allows the player to choose a nickname which will appear alongside their snake during play. The aim is to collect points and make your snake grow longer (steady on…)
Some players, who obviously have nothing else better to do with their time, build up scores of 50,000+, meaning their snake becomes rather scarily big. If you come across one, unless you’re feeling brave, run away… fast.
There ultimately is no actual meaning to the game, once you crash into another snake it’s game over. Your snake turns into points which other players can collect.
The app is a realtime live multiplayer game, meaning you play alongside hundreds of other gamer’s across the globe, so if you take down someones snake after they have been sat on the toilet for the past 2 hours building it up, you can guarantee somewhere out there, at that precise moment, somebody has launched their phone across the room.
The app is free and is also available to play online via a PC / MAC… It is extremely addictive, don’t say we didn’t warn you.
